You'll start this route by cycling past Strand Horst and Strand Nulde. There are two lovely beaches where you can go for a quick swim or take a little moment to enjoy the warm sun. You will find Strand Horst just after cycling junction 32. And a few kilometers later, you will find Strand Nulde, just before cycling junction 38.
Between cycling junctions 19 and 14, you will find grain mill 't Hert'. The mill's (long) history starts in 1557 when it started as a watermill. This particular mill was demolished a few years after it was built and has been replaced with a couple of different grain mills over the years. Most of these grain mills have been burned down, but they kept rebuilding them. Because of its impressive history and beautiful location, it is a perfect place for a pit stop. You can even buy various products, such as pancake mix and cake mix, at the shop located inside the mill.Â
Don't forget to make another one of these stops right between cycling junctions 92 and 93 at Mill 'De Koe'. This mill has a rich history as well. Take a free tour through the mill, and learn more about how the mill works and about its history. After the tour, don't forget to take a look in the shop for some souvenirs or something delicious!
After having cycled past the beaches and mills, you have to cycle a little bit further, and you'll be back at the park in no time. Time for a well-deserved rest after a lovely cycling route!
